Introduction
The call to walk with Jesus is one voice that has often resonated in the mind of every mortal man. This call comes to every man as he takes his journey in this world. Many a man may pretend not to have heard that gentle voice to follow Jesus, but it once beckoned on both small and mighty. One thing that characterized this call is that it is without force of compulsion or yet with no little strivings (Gen.6:3). The often reluctance of men to take this walk and to yield absolutely to the yearnings of the Spirit made God to relinquish the place of striving. Hence some assume that to walk with Jesus is of little relevance as compared to being entangled in the web of this world. They considered holding to worldly pursuits and such programmes of the world the ultimate attainment in destiny. Walking with Jesus is therefore a matter of choice and should be attended with passivity. For this vain deceit, the young men are scarce in the fields of labour unto eternity. They have gone to the events of the world and have spent their strength in what profits the flesh. Oh! How you have silenced that voice begging from the world beyond. Even now them who once took the journey with God are between two opinions – if to consider some little time of amusements at the Vanity Fair. Thus for this daily contentions we have come to the feet of Jesus peradventure a wretch shall be saved. Let us pray before we continue.
